1. Service Description

Trailhead Tutoring is an online platform that connects students and parents with peer tutors from local high schools in the Lamorinda area. We facilitate the booking, scheduling, and payment of tutoring sessions but are not ourselves a tutoring provider. Tutors on our platform are independent individuals, not employees of Trailhead Tutoring.

2. Eligibility and Accounts

Parents and guardians may create accounts to book tutoring sessions for their children. Tutor accounts are available to high school students who apply and are accepted through our review process. By creating an account, you agree to provide accurate information and keep your account credentials secure.

You are responsible for all activity under your account. If you suspect unauthorized access, contact us immediately at support@trailheadtutoring.com.

3. User Responsibilities

Parents agree to: provide accurate contact and student information, ensure students are prepared for sessions, communicate respectfully with tutors, and make timely payments through the platform.

Tutors agree to: maintain accurate availability, arrive prepared and on time for sessions, provide quality instruction in their listed subjects, communicate professionally with families, and complete sessions as booked.

4. Payment Terms

Tutoring rates range from $30 to $60 per hour, as set by individual tutors. A platform fee of 25% is included to cover platform maintenance and support services.

Payment is collected after the session is completed. Parents pay via PayPal, Venmo, or Zelle, and the platform admin verifies receipt of payment.

5. Cancellation Policy

You may cancel a session up to 24 hours before the scheduled time at no charge, since payment is collected after the session. Please cancel as early as possible so tutors can plan accordingly.

Tutors who cancel excessively (more than 3 times per month) may have their accounts paused.

6. Session Conduct

All users are expected to behave respectfully and professionally. Trailhead Tutoring reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that engage in harassment, inappropriate behavior, fraud, or any conduct that violates these terms. Sessions may be conducted online or in-person, as agreed upon by both parties.

7. Limitation of Liability

Trailhead Tutoring provides a platform to connect tutors and families. We do not guarantee specific academic outcomes or the quality of any individual tutoring session. We are not liable for any disputes between tutors and families, though we will assist in mediation when possible.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Trailhead Tutoring shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.

8. Dispute Resolution

If you have a dispute regarding a session, please contact us at support@trailheadtutoring.com within 24 hours. We will review the situation and work with both parties to reach a fair resolution, which may include partial or full refunds at our discretion.

9. Modifications

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will notify registered users of significant changes via email.
