For Parents
Booking a tutor is simple! Browse our tutors, select one that fits your needs, and choose an available time slot. You'll enter your payment information to hold the session, but you won't be charged until after the session is completed. You'll receive a confirmation email with all the details.
Our tutors charge between $30-60 per hour, depending on their experience and the subject. You'll see each tutor's rate on their profile before booking. There's also a small platform fee included to help us maintain the service and ensure tutor quality.
All tutors go through an application process where we verify their school enrollment, review their academic standing (GPA), and assess their tutoring abilities. We check that they attend one of our four partner high schools and have strong knowledge in their teaching subjects. Only about 30% of applicants are accepted.
You can cancel a session up to 24 hours before the scheduled time for a full refund. Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance will receive a 50% refund. This policy helps ensure tutors are fairly compensated for their reserved time.
If you've worked with a tutor before and want to book them again, simply visit their profile and book directly. You can also save favorite tutors to your dashboard for easy rebooking.
We want every session to be successful. If you're not satisfied with a session, please contact us within 24 hours and we'll work to make it right, which may include a partial or full refund depending on the circumstances.
For Tutors
Tutors earn between $30-60 per hour, with the platform taking a 25% fee for payment processing, marketing, and platform maintenance. This means you can earn $22.50-$45 per hour of tutoring. Many tutors work 5-10 hours per week and earn $100-$450 weekly.
Payments are processed through Stripe. You'll set up a Stripe account during onboarding, and earnings are automatically transferred to your bank account. Payouts typically arrive within 2-3 business days after a session is completed.
Life happens! If you need to cancel, please do so at least 24 hours in advance through your dashboard. Repeated last-minute cancellations may affect your standing on the platform. If you have more than 3 declined bookings in a month, your account may be temporarily paused.
We typically review applications within 2-3 business days. You'll receive an email once your application has been reviewed. If approved, you can start accepting bookings immediately.
While prior experience is helpful, it's not required. We look for students who have strong academic performance in their tutoring subjects, good communication skills, and a genuine desire to help others learn. Your application essay and video (if provided) help us assess your teaching potential.
